About us

Sophomore Djagli Wayne Bruce
launched his clothing line-Born Libre-last year.
I first had the idea two years ago, inspired by my Christian faith "to do something remarkable," I said. "I started this to show Christians that are afraid to express themselves that I can do that for them."
Originally from the West African country of Togo, I chose the name "Born Libre," which translates to "Born Free," to incorporate my francophone roots into the brand.
I explained the meaning behind the words, saying, "I'm not rich, but me and my family, we have the freedom of life. We live life, and we enjoy every moment of it." I conceded that I'm "not expecting everyone to buy from [me]." However, I encourage people "to know God" and hope that anyone losing faith is able "to regain their faith" more each day. My favorite aspect of running Born Libre has been the way I have been able to promote it while "meeting” new people, new beliefs, and discovering "how people love it and support [me]." To others looking to start their own projects, I advise "to have discipline" over motivation, and "to listen, to pray, be patient, and always have hope." Acknowledging the difficulties and "ups and downs," I believe that trusting the process is the best way to tackle life and also everyone has their time to shine.
